Verily Study Hub
The Verily Study Hub is a connectivity bridge that automatically encrypts and uploads data from the Verily Study Watch to the cloud when the user charges the watch.
I joined Verily as a Product Design Engineer intern and worked on the next generation Study Hub in 2022. I was responsible for the design of several electromechanical subsystems within the device, including designing light pipes, cable routing, heat management, and injection molded enclosures. I worked closely with electrical engineering, manufacturing, industrial design, and hardware test.
I also organized and led the first prototype build of the Study Hub, fabricating and releasing parts, testing fit and assembly, and identifying areas for redesign. Since it was an in-house build, I managed inventory, designed fixtures for process steps, and created detailed manufacturing instructions for the device. I also managed the main issues list, tracking and prioritizing design and build challenges as they arose, and brainstorming potential solutions with the team. In addition, I assisted with pre-production testing to requirements, conducting and documenting test results in compliance with IEC 60601 standards.
As of summer 2025, the next generation Study Hub has launched and is rolling out to replace the legacy version!
